KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The first wave of rain and snow are here, and pulses of rain continue to move in and change to snow for some more than others based on a small difference in temperatures. Forecasters are calling for heavy mixed precipitation to begin early Friday morning, with up to two inches of snow and up to a quarter of an inch of ice expected, along with winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour. Slippery road conditions are expected. The Winter Storm Warning for Pike County, Illinois and Audrain, Monroe, Pike and Ralls counties in Missouri runs from midnight until 3 p.m. Friday. The Winter Storm Warning for Adams and Brown counties in Illinois and Knox, Lewis, Marion and Shelby counties in Missouri runs from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Rainfall ️ & Wind Warnings for parts of the South Coast. Heavy rain is expected to pelt the North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver, and northeast Metro Vancouver, including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge. The agency is forecasting rainfall amounts from 40 to 60 millimetres. Similar amounts are expected on the Sunshine Coast. The agency warns that localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Meantime, eastern Vancouver Island is under a wind alert, while a snowfall warning has been issued for B.C.’s North Coast and inland sections, Peace River, Williston, and Bulkley Valley regions.
