ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday said Pakistan was resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and defence of the two Holy Mosques.
He said this during his meeting with Prince Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minster and Defence Minister, and Prince Khalid Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Defence Minister at Jeddah.
They discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security situation including recent developments in Afghan Peace Process, bilateral defence, security, collaboration for regional peace and connectivity.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed agreements to improve ties after months of strained relations over the disputed region of Kashmir.
The two traditional allies took the steps on May 8 as part of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan s two-day trip to Saudi Arabia.
The agreements addressed the treatment of criminals, joint efforts to combat drug trafficking, and infrastructure and other projects. The two countries also agreed to establish a higher coordination council.
Relations soured after Islamabad sought Saudi Arabia s support over alleged human rights violations by India in the disputed territory of Kashmir. Saudi Arabia has been careful not to upset India, a key business partner and importer of Saudi oil.
FM Qureshi says PM Imran Khan’s Saudi Arabia visit proved ‘highly productive’

JEDDAH: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday termed the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia as highly productive and said it would bring good news for Pakistani people.
Talking to the media after PM Imran’s meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, the foreign minister said talks between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were marked by warmth and cordiality.
FM Qureshi, in a video statement, said that delegation-level talks were held in an extremely friendly atmosphere during which views were exchanged on future directions of the bilateral relationship.
Cairo: Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz has approved the construction of a massive mosque project in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, the Saudi news agency SPA reported Saturday.
The site will be named the Mosque of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the official title of the Saudi monarch.
Situated at the Islamabad-based International Islamic University’s hostel, the mosque will have two separate prayer areas for male and male worshippers planned to accommodate 4,000 males and 2,000 females respectively, in addition to outdoor courtyards of capacity of up to 6,000 worshippers.
Library and museum
The project will also comprise a library and a museum to be named after King Salman as well as a convention hall to carry the name of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, an area for administrative services and car parking spaces.
Cairo: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan held talks on boosting ties between the two countries and efforts against terrorism.
The talks were held following the arrival of the Pakistani premier for an official visit to the kingdom.
During the talks held in the Saudi city of Jeddah, emphasis was laid on the depth of relations between the kingdom and Pakistan and the importance of expanding their cooperation and coordination in all fields, the Saudi news agency SPA reported.
Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Khan signed an agreement establishing a Saudi-Pakistani higher coordination council.
