Woman testifies court system ‘didn’t believe me’ when she came forward with sexual abuse allegations in 1990s

SAGINAW, MI In the late 1990s, a teenage German citizen living in Saginaw told authorities a male member of her household was sexually abusing her. As a result, she wound up in foster care for years, separated from her family while no criminal charges were filed against the man she said violated her.
The experience soured her belief in the justice system.
Decades on, the now-38-year-old woman took to the witness stand in a hearing for the man she said abused her, who is now charged with several felonies.

SAGINAW, MI A Saginaw woman may lose a leg following a violent dispute at a liquor store.
The afternoon of Monday, April 19, two women were at the Blue Diamond at 1313 Cumberland St. on Saginaw’s East Side. The women, who were already known to each other, began arguing over a man, Saginaw Police Detective Sgt. Matthew Gerow said.
One of the women, an 18-year-old Saginaw resident, stepped out of the store and entered her van in the parking lot. She waited for the other woman to exit the store, then put her van in gear and rammed it into the other woman, Gerow said.

SAGINAW, MI A Saginaw woman is facing numerous felonies after allegedly trying to rob another woman at gunpoint and later trying to stab a third woman.
The first of two cases against Tina M. Romo, 40, dates to March 10. While in the area of Burt Street and South Park Avenue, Romo allegedly pulled a gun on a 57-year-old woman she knew. She did so in an attempt to rob the woman of some pills, prosecutors said.
The victim managed to flee to the nearby Saginaw Rescue Mission at 1021 Burt St., where she called 911. Romo had left the area by the time police officers arrived, prosecutors said.
