On Tuesday around 2:20 p.m., deputies responded to Furnivall Avenue and Soledad Street in Canyon Country regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Upon arrival, two males were detained pending investigation,” Arriaga said. During the investigation, deputies learned during a verbal dispute, the suspect struck the victim with an object in his torso, according to Arriaga.

On Friday, Jan. 8, at about 9:40 p.m., deputies responded to The Old Road near Church Street in Castaic regarding a carjacking, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim and learned while the victim was seated in his vehicle east of The Old Road,” Arriaga said. “A male adult approached the front driver’s side of his vehicle, and struck the victim in the face with a hard object through his open window.”
