A couple from Jay who were arrested last week are accused of committing sex crimes against a child who Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson described as probably the youngest victim that I’ve ever seen in 38 years of law enforcement.
Johnson announced the arrests of Brandi Nacole Harper and her boyfriend, John David McKenzie, at a Tuesday morning press conference at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office headquarters. You know how I feel about stuff like this, Johnson said. If I had my way, I’d have them taken to the vet and have them put down like a dog. But that’s just me.

A Jay couple has been accused of sex crimes against a child that Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Bob Johnson described as “what is probably the youngest victim I’ve ever seen in 38-years of law enforcement.”
Brandi Nacole Harper, 38, and her boyfriend, 35-year old John David McKenzie were described as “mutts” by Johnson during a press conference Tuesday morning.
“If I had my way, I’d take them to the vet and have them put down like a dog. But that’s just me,” Johnson said.
McKenzie, 35, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Each count is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Harper, 38, was charged with two counts of capital sexual battery on a victim under 12. If convicted, she faces two consecutive life sentences.
Odessa Man Charged With Smuggling Guatemalan Boys
ODESSA, TX An Odessa man is facing smuggling charges after he attempted to smuggle two Guatemalan boys into the country.
According to the Florida Department of Law, 39-year-old Frank Moreno of Odessa and 21-year-old Jackson Perez-Godinez attempted to put the boys into forced labor.
Moreno and Perez-Godinez were initially stopped for a traffic stop by a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy on I-10.
The deputy discovered what he believed to be signs of human trafficking and called in the Florida Department of Law. Deputies and agents then discovered the two boys had been smuggled in through Mexico.
