Year: Class of 2022 Coach’s comment: Audrey has stepped up to help lead our varsity team into the playoffs.  She is energetic, creative, compassionate, but competitive. It has been such a joy to watch Audrey grow in our sport of tennis. She just gets better with every practice and match. Audrey has taken her knowledge of tennis and is now sharing that knowledge with our 3 JV players we have brought up to help Varsity in our playoffs.  She is a wonderful person and a huge asset to our team. – Coach Nicol Zundel All coaches at Templeton High School are invited to participate in Athletes of the Week to recognize students who are a standout at a recent competition, showing improvement at practices, or bringing a great attitude to the team. San Luis Obispo police detective killed in the line of duty identified May 11, 2021 By KAREN VELIE San Luis Obispo city officials announced today the name of the detective shot and killed while serving a search warrant as 37-year-old Luca Benedetti. Shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday, six officers attempted to serve a search warrant on Edward Zamora Giron, 37, at his apartment on Camellia Court, regarding a spree of commercial burglaries. Officers knocked and announced they were there, but Giron did not open the door. After an extended amount of time, officers broke the door down to find Giron armed and lying in wait. Giron fired at the officers, who returned fire and retreated.

Local hospital shows appreciation for nurses and last updated 2021-05-07 02:35:34-04 Nurse appreciation week starts on Thursday. The week is intended to honor nurses and healthcare workers especially after an intense year. Nurses from Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo celebrated by enjoying some live music. Nurse Linda Martin is the lead singer of a band called Back Bay Betty who performed Thursday evening. The party was beach themed and also included food and games to help the nurses relax and have some fun. Nursing has been through the other health care professions as well has been through a very tough year so we want to make sure that we went a little above and beyond and do some extra recognition for the nurses, said Arthur Dominguez Jr. Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer.

Local hospitals earn top grade in patient safety from Leapfrog Group

Employees at Sierra Vista (Left) and Twin Cities (Right) celebrate the achievement. – Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton both received an “A” grade in the Spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Tenet Health Central Coast’s achievements protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. Of particular note is that Sierra Vista has achieved consecutive A’s every reporting period since the ratings first came out in 2012 – only three hospitals in California, and 27 nationwide, have achieved straight A’s since 2012.
