Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the Pakistan Army greatly values its friendly relations with China.
The army chief said this during a meeting with Ambassador of China to Pakistan Nong Rong who called on him at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, said a press statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Matters of mutual interest, recent developments in Afghan peace process, progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), regional security and current situation of Covid-19 were discussed during the meeting.
According to the military’s media wing, the COAS thanked the dignitary for China’s contribution towards the fight against Covid-19 in Pakistan.

Chief of the Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday met Nong Rong, the ambassador of China to Pakistan, and informed him that the Pakistan Army greatly values its “friendly relations” with Beijing.
“Matters of mutual interest; recent developments in Afghan peace process; progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor; regional security; and current situation of COVID-19 were discussed during the meeting [at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi],” read a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the armed forces.

In March, the Iron Brothers Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People s Republic of China kicked off the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. This year will be an opportunity to survey the journey of diplomatic relations between two countries, which was established in the year of 1951. Both countries began their celebrations at a virtual ceremony in Islamabad and Beijing and have a plan to celebrate through May 21.

The government has prioritised power projects, which also include strategic projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to execute the Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP).
Sources told The Express Tribune that the government will execute those power generation projects under the government-to-government arrangement that are listed under federal government’s international (bilateral or multilateral) commitments, if project financing agreements have been signed.
In the second category are those committed projects that have obtained Letter of Support (LOS) as of December 2020 for private sector projects. In the third category federal government public sector projects for which the PC-I has been approved and funding secured as of March 2021 have been included.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chairman of China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC Authority Lt. General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that CPEC is the project of national development and no power can stop it.
Talking to businessmen, Asim Bajwa said that entire nation is proud of CPEC and revealed that several mega development projects are underway with cooperation of China.
He said that work on western route of CPEC, road network in Balochistan, establishment of twelve factories at Gwadar free zone, Faisalabad and Rashakai Economic Zones is underway.
