The Jammu and Kashmir police has busted a narco terror module by arresting a terror associate in North Kashmir s Kupwara district and also recovered a huge quantity of narcotic substance worth crores from his possession, officials said on Sunday.
The arrested terrorist associate has been identified as Mujasir Ahmad Lone, resident of Karen Bala. 8 kgs of heroin worth Rs 50 crores was recovered from his possession. Other persons involved in the said narco-terror crime have also been identified and efforts are on to effect their arrest, police said.
Police said preliminary investigation hasA revealed that the module was in close contact with Pakistan based terror handlers and were involved in drug trade and assisting financially to active terrorists of the valley.

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday said that the narco module busted on Sunday was on forces radar for the past few weeks and more chains and links related to the case will be identified during the investigation. Police said 8 kgs of Heroin has been recovered from the one arrested person which has a market value of Rs 50 Crore.

Three terrorists were killed, while one surrendered before security forces during an encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kanigam area of the South Kashmir district during the night following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.
