NEW YORK After months of people scrambling to find places to get the coronavirus vaccine available appointments would no sooner be announced than they would be snapped up more and more clinics, pharmacies and points of dispensing are offering to give the vaccine to anyone who walks in.
On Tuesday, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-Cold Spring, and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, a Republican, toured the Poughkeepsie Galleria Vaccination Site, set up in the former JCPenney store, and encouraged everyone in the Hudson Valley to get the vaccine.

More than half of New York state’s county Republican chairs have now endorsed Rep. Lee Zeldin to become the party’s nominee for governor next year, with Erie and Niagara Counties putting him over the top Friday.
Zeldin, on Thursday, had secured endorsements from more than half of the state’s Conservative Party chairs, raising the chances that he’ll be on the ballot in next year’s race for governor.
He’s just one of two Republicans who’ve formally declared their candidacy for governor next year. Lewis County Sheriff Mike Carpinelli has also announced a run, but hasn’t gained as much support to date.

The Hudson Valley Renegades kick off their 2021 season on May 4, with a home opener at Dutchess Stadium following on May 11 against the Aberdeen IronBirds. This year marks the Renegades’ first season playing as a New York Yankees farm team giving local residents the chance to see potential future Yankees major leaguers right here in the Hudson Valley, 65 miles north of the Bronx.
An autopsy report shared during the trial, which began April 19, showed Terrie DeGelormo had been stabbed 43 times and cut 13 times. A jury decided it was Alexander holding the knife on that night, acting as their 1-year-old son Ryan Alexei DeGelormo was asleep nearby.
Defense attorney Anthony DeFazio said the verdict was extremely disappointing. We believe there were many errors made during the trial and pre-trial, and we intend to appeal, he said.
Whelan said she is confident the verdict will be upheld. We are very pleased with the jury’s verdict, and thankful that the defendant has been held accountable, she said.
