Information for Survivors of Sexual Assault | Texas Health and Human Services

Under HSC §323.0015, if a licensed hospital or freestanding emergency medical care facility licensed under HSC Chapter 254 notifies the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) that it employs or contracts with a sexual assault forensic examiner or uses a telemedicine system of sexual assault forensic examiners to provide consultation to a licensed nurse or physician when conducting a sexual assault forensic medical examination, then HHSC shall designate that facility as a sexual assault forensic exam ready (SAFE-ready) facility. HSC §323.0051 requires a health care facility that is not a SAFE-ready facility to provide survivors of sexual assault with this form:

Requirements for LCDC License Renewal The counselor intern registration may not be renewed; therefore, no Continuing Education is required for counselor interns. All continuing education hours must be specific to substance use disorders and their treatment or related to chemical dependency counseling as defined by the dimensions of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Related education hours can include courses in psychology, sociology, counseling, mental health, behavioral science, psychiatric nursing, ethics and rehabilitation counseling. Continuing education hours must include at least three hours of ethics training and at least six hours of training (total) in HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted diseases. If a person s job duties include clinical supervision, required hours of continuing education must include three hours of clinical supervision training.
