Craig Lee, who grew up in Bath and owned Lee’s Market for many years, died this month after contracting COVID-19. He was 77.
Lee was admitted to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington on Dec. 11 with health issues relating to his type 2 diabetes. Lee’s family said he tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 17 during his hospital stay and was transferred to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, where he died on Dec. 18.

AUGUSTA, Maine NEWS CENTER Maine has received reports from public safety agencies, such as fire departments and police departments, that people are calling and asking about the vaccine. On Wednesday, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said Maine CDC has received similar calls. He said that while these calls are likely being made with good intentions, they are misguided. Unless you are a healthcare worker or have preexisting conditions, it may be many months until there is enough vaccine available nationally to vaccinate everyone who wants it.

YORK, Maine Two vaccines for COVID-19 have been approved thus far for widespread U.S. distribution, but a third could be approved before too long, perhaps with some help from local volunteers.
Tens of thousands of people have rolled up their sleeves for the ongoing clinical trials to test AstraZeneca s vaccine candidate, which researchers say has shown promising preliminary signs of being effective against the virus that has infected millions globally in the past year.
York residents Kim and Barry Waddell, who are among those to participate in an AstraZeneca trial, are slated to receive the second of their two shots on New Year s Eve. In the current study, the vaccine is administered in two shots 30 days apart.

SACO – On Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, we lost our dad and best friend, Keith Sheridan Whitmore, 89, due to Covid-19 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
Keith was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Otis, Maine, one of 10 children born to Orion and Mercy (Garland) Whitmore. Dad attended the one-room grade school in Otis with his sisters and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1949. He married Charlene Lillian Holmes from Hulls Cove in 1952.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict spending his service time in Germany. After the service, Dad furthered his education at Coyne Electric in Connecticut. Keith worked for Coyne Electric and E.W. Bliss as a foreman and finished his working career at West Point Stevens (The Pepperell) as the Assistant Plant Engineer. He loved his
