A lot of the movies have been postponed to 2021.” Jividen is optimistic people might be want to see a movie on the big screen as new theatrical films are scheduled to premiere on Christmas Day.

The National Association of Theatre Owners praised the bill and president John Fithian said that there s a very real chance that our business can begin to return to normal in the spring. But the organization will continue to seek help for large chains. The reality may be that the road to recovery for US movie theaters will be longer than theater owners anticipate. Recent surveys by Morning Consult and the consulting firm Deloitte found that the majority of respondents did not feel comfortable returning to a theater for another six months or more.

The $900 billion package includes $15 billion to help keep theaters and venues afloat during the pandemic. The National Association Of Theater Owners said the money would help theaters weather this pandemic and ensure that workers have jobs waiting for them when it is safe to reopen . Though the text of the bill has yet to be made public, the package will also include another round of direct payments this time totaling $600 per adult. It should be noted this second bill has yet to be voted on, though it s expected the House will take it up and pass it on Monday before it heads to the Senate.
