Smokers at 50% higher risk of developing severe diseases, death from Covid-19: WHO
While launching its Commit to Quit tobacco campaign, the WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said smokers can develop cancer, heart diseases and respiratory illnesses from coronavirus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Friday warned that people who smoke tobacco have up to 50 per cent higher risk of developing serious illnesses and dying due to Covid-19.

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 30 (ANI): Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) will hold a protest on June 1 against Yoga Guru Ramdev s irresponsible statements about COVID warriors and modern medicine.
In a statement, the DAJ also appealed to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to instruct necessary action against Ramdev and said that he should face the consequences of his irresponsible and despicable public statements .
The protest will be held without hampering the care being given to patients amid the COVID pandemic. As part of the protest, doctors will wear black bandages.
