Probe dismantles 54 more STL booths in Cebu. (File photo)
+ May 28, 2021 MORE booths of illegal small town lottery (STL) in Cebu City were dismantled and confiscated by the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement (Probe) team more than a week since the operation started.
Probe chief Raquel Arce said as of May 27, 2021, a total of 54 booths of illegal STL were confiscated and dismantled.
Arce said most of the STL booths were closed and abandoned.
“So far, we have not seen stalls that are still operational. These booths were closed; it’s already abandoned,” said Arce.
Probe has been conducting road clearing operations to free public roads and sidewalks from any obstruction.

+ May 28, 2021 THE budget for the purchase of the Covid-19 vaccines in Cebu City will remain untouched until the city achieves herd immunity.
The Cebu City Government has an existing P400 million budget allocated for Covid-19 vaccine purchase.

+ May 19, 2021 THE Cebu City Government may no longer purchase its own Covid-19 vaccines after the National Government assured that enough vaccines will be allocated for Metro Cebu.
In a meeting with Visayas Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) officials earlier this week, Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama was told by retired general Melquiades Feliciano that the National Government will prioritize Metro Cebu so it will achieve herd immunity before the year ends.

SunStar File May 14, 2021 THE New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) Complex will close its doors on May 30, 2021, about a year after starting operations as an isolation center for asymptomatic and mild coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients.
The complex, located in the South Road Properties (SRP), has stopped accepting Covid-19 patients since May 5.
Work is ongoing on an extension facility behind the Bigfoot Studio building, where the Noah personnel may move their operations. It is expected to accommodate more than 1,000 beds.
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, in a press conference on Friday, May 14, said its closure will not affect the City’s Covid-19 response as cases are already declining.
