HSE CEO Paul Reid and senior colleagues faced questioning from Oireachtas representatives this morning on the continued rollout of the vaccine, including from Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway and Fianna Fail Deputy Cathal Crowe.
Senator Conway raised the example of the Kerry village of Sneem, which last week received an excess of doses ordered and has since vaccinated some 234 over 70s in its small parish.

Mary-Lou McDonald and the Sinn Féin leadership need to reveal the extent of their knowledge of an English journalist writing under an assumed name for their party newspaper An Phoblacht, a Fine Gael Senator has said.
Senator Regina Doherty said “Clearly Deputy McDonald, as leader of her party, must have known that Roy Greenslade was writing under a false name as George King in her party newspaper An Phoblacht.
“She and her party leadership must now confirm the extent of this practice of fake identifies within An Phoblacht.
One-off grants to help restaurants and bars develop outdoor seating areas should be made available to support the industry’s reopening when safe to do so, a Fine Gael Senator has said.
