A Cornish Entrepreneur has created an app specifically designed to assist the wellbeing of hospitality workers. Healthy Hospo, which had been supporting hospitality workers globally through face-to-face workshops and events, was forced to move its services online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With support from the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, Healthy Hospo has further adapted its offering by launching the Healthy Hospo app, which takes a holistic approach to helping hospitality workers take care of their physical and mental health through online training and guides. Owner Tim Etherington-Judge said: Making up approximately 10% of the global workforce - but in one of the lowest paid industries - hospitality workers face a number of challenges, from sleep deprivation and a lack of routine, to regularly having to deal with demanding customers and stressful situations.

Over the past decade, spirits producers have increasingly made sustainability a priority. As consumers become more conscious of their impact on the environment, brands have responded and adapted their production and marketing efforts to become more eco‐friendly. A swathe of major companies have pledged to meet ambitious green targets, while new brands have emerged, touting their sustainable credentials in a bid to entice mindful consumers.
Avallen Spirits joins 1% for the Planet Calvados producer Avallen Spirits has solidified its commitment to planet positivity by becoming a member of charitable platform 1% for the Planet. Created by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, the plaform sees businesses commit to donating 1 per cent of their turnover to environmental non-profits. Companies already signed up include Rebel Kitchen, Cooper King Distillery, Warner s and Langley s. In joining 1% for the Planet, Avallen has made a long-term commitment to protecting the world s wild bee populations - a cause that is close to its heart. Bees and other pollinators, which play a crucial part in global food chains, have seen a dramatic decline in numbers in the past century, due largely to the increased use of modern pesticides.
