Andy Beshear announced 2,424 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 47 additional deaths on Wednesday afternoon. Kentucky is reporting that 352,943 residents have tested positive since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The positivity rate currently stands at 9.35% statewide. As of Wednesday, 3,542 people have died across the commonwealth due to complications with COVID-19. Beshear said he will announce more information on the state’s regional vaccine partners and the first Kroger Health regional vaccination center on Thursday.

Andy Beshear said he had a call today with the President’s COVID-19 team where he learned the federal government will increase each state’s supply of COVID-19 vaccines by 17%. “That is a great start,” said Gov. Beshear. “The other thing they are doing is guaranteeing a minimum supply for three straight weeks. One of the tough things we’ve been dealing with is only knowing on a Tuesday what we would have the next week and not knowing what we would have in the weeks after.”

COVID-19 update: 23 new cases in Henderson County, 177 in Green River District HENDERSON, Ky.  There were 23 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Henderson County on Saturday, according to the Green River District Health Department s report. The GRDHD reported 177 new confirmed cases, 100 from Daviess County, which also saw three additional COVID-related deaths. There were 14 new cases in Hancock County, 11 in McLean, 13 in Ohio, eight in Union and eight in Webster County. The incidence rate, which measures the average daily cases per 100,000 population over the past seven days, dropped from 74.6 to 67 in Henderson County as of Friday afternoon, but still at the red or critical level. The entire seven-county Green River District remained at the critical level. Hancock County has the highest incidence rate at 83.5.

Health officials say of those cases, 100 are in Daviess County, 23 in Henderson County, 14 in Hancock County, 13 in Ohio County, 11 in McLean County, eight in Union and Webster Counties. All three COVID-19 related deaths are in Daviess County. Of the 16,832 reported COVID-19 cases in the district, health officials say 12,816 people have recovered from the virus.
