Tech firms to pitch for cash at EIE21

Picture: Stewart Attwood The EIE21 tech investor conference is set to take place in June with 25 Scottish firms among those pitching for up to £2 million of investment. A further seven start-ups from further afield have also been chosen to take part in the virtual event on June 10. Among them are Transwap, a Singapore fintech in the process of setting up in Scotland, London-based fintech Bridgeweave and iLoF, a digital health specialist based in Oxford. EIE is a year-round programme run by the University of Edinburgh’s Bayes Centre in partnership with the Data-Driven Innovation (DDI) initiative. The year-round programme is highlighted by a day of pitching to investors from around the world for seed level funding up to £2m or more.

Currently operating in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia, TranSwap’s management noted that the UK will now serve as the base from which it will be further expanding operations outside of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
