Earlier on Monday, Khan directed the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) to start the preparations for the 14th edition of SAG to be hosted by Pakistan later this year.

There are various issues which have been impeding the smooth flow of the electoral process of PFF. On Tuesday Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Secretary General Khalid Mahmood said that the NOC had the capability to hold the PFF elections. “If FIFA gives us the task of holding the PFF elections, we have the capability to do this job successfully through the assistance of our provincial associations,” Khalid told ‘The News’.

14th South Asian Games: Punjab s populous cities to host major events

Sports January 12, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Populous cities of Punjab will host major events of the 14th South Asian Games that will be held in the near future. The high-level meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, was held here on Monday to discuss and finalise arrangements for the regional sports extravaganza.‘The News’ has learned from well-placed sources that it was decided in principle to host all major events in the populous cities of Punjab with Lahore being the centre point. Islamabad hosted the Games in 1989 and 2004. This time, however, the federal capital will only be one of the host cities, possibly staging two to three events. A couple of events could also be staged in Peshawar. But majority of the 27 disciplines (25 to be decided by the South Asian Olympic Committee and two by the hosts) will be staged in Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad.

High-level meeting to decide fate of SA Games today

Sports January 11, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The fate of the 14th South Asian Games, originally to be hosted by Pakistan in 2021 but was postponed for a year due to Covid-19, will be decided at a high-level meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan here today (Monday). A well-placed source in the Ministry for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has told ‘The News’ that Prime Minister Imran Khan, depending on his availability, will be chairing the high-profile meeting that is expected to be held in the afternoon and all the stakeholders have been invited for suggestions and consultations before giving a go-ahead to the preparation of the Games.
