Dist clocks 3,527 cases, 12 fatalities on Tuesday

On Tuesday,
Pune district added 3,527 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), pushing the case tally to 4,43,822.
With 12 patients losing their lives to the virus, the death toll in the district stands at 9,440.
However, some 1,577 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the district after full recovery. This has brought the total number of patients cured of COVID-19 in Pune district to 4,10,347.

Massive coronavirus surge in Pune: PMC s COVID-19 tally rises by 1925; active cases jump to 13225

In a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) reported 1,925 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking its caseload to 2,21,210.
According to an update by PMC Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, the death toll climbed to 4,969 with seven new fatalities.
A total of 677 patients were discharged during the day, taking the total number of discharged/ recovered patients to 2,03,016.
As of now, there are 13,225 active COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases in Pune district increased by 3,574 in the last 24 hours to reach 4,43,822, an official said on Tuesday.

Following a Pune Mirror story impact, many citizen groups and several organisations working in the field of conservation of environment have come forward and started a campaign called ‘Mission Save Trees Maharashtra’.
Mirror had reported on Friday (March 12), as how timber contractors appointed by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (
PCMC) chopped off over 50 fully grown trees right from the roots when the permission was only given to trim few branches that are covering streetlights. The act was further caught by one of the citizen activist members of the smart city project.
