The Red Cross is known for stepping up when disaster strikes, and volunteers are a major part of the mission.
The Red Cross says it has more than 2,100 volunteers in South Florida. One of those volunteers is Clara Correa. Youâll find Clara wearing a Red Cross pin and making a difference.
For Clara, it all started about 17 years ago. Clara says she responded when WPTV NewsChannel 5 did a call out for volunteers to help the Red Cross after a hurricane.

Several American Red Cross Blood Drives scheduled in Northwest Iowa in the next few weeksÂ
The American Red Cross is holding numerous Blood Drives in Northwest Iowa over the next few weeks.
Regional Communications Manager Emily Holley says there s always a need for blood. The need for blood is constant because we don t know what is happening at all times. The one year anniversary of the Iowa derecho will be coming up in August, last summer at this time there were wildfire, there s flooding. Disasters impact blood supply, so we want to maintain a healthy blood supply at all times, and so we want to make sure that folks are always willing to roll up their sleeve if they re eligible and able to give blood.

The NPP Northern Regional Chairman Mr. Mohammed Baantimah Adam Samba has touted his achievements as unprecedented in the history of the party in the Northern Region.
According to him, he has performed well to the admiration of the rank and file of the party since he became Regional Chairman three (3) years ago.
