State health officials reported 11,615 COVID-19 cases, Wednesday, for a total of 1,601,011 infections.
The Florida Department of Health also reported 142 coronavirus-related deaths, Jan. 20, increasing the statewide death toll to 24,965 fatalities since the start of the pandemic.
The latest single-day positivity rate reported by the Florida Division of Emergency Management increased to 13.22% on Tuesday. Over the past two weeks the single-day positivity rate has ranged between 10.82% and 13.24%.
The Agency for Health Care Administration reports that as of this morning 7,119 patients are admitted to hospitals throughout the state with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19, including 557 patients in hospitals in Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hendry, Lee, Manatee and Sarasota counties combined.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida’s Health Department quietly launched a pilot program of a new telephone appointment system meant to help counties better handle the demand for life-saving coronavirus vaccines.
Some hospitals, county health departments and vaccination centers were plunged in chaos after Gov. Lake County ready to begin giving out 2nd doses of COVID-19 vaccine
Moderna second doses begin Jan. 26; Pfizer second doses start Feb. 2

The Lake County Department of Health will begin offering second dose COVID-19 immunizations next week.
The DOH is set to begin administering those shots on Jan. 26. The department is in the process of calling people to set up their final inoculation appointments.
Anyone who got their first shot at a Lake DOH site will receive a call with appointment information. Second dose recipients will need to have a photo ID and the CDC vaccination card provided at their first shot.
