Smithton Man Injured in Motorcycle Wreck
A Smithton man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 Harley-Davidson, driven by 44-year-old Matthew L. Spencer of Smithton, was on US 50 at Route O at 4:45 p.m., when he lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. Spencer suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.

Bothwell Regional Health Center is scheduled to administer COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines from 1 to 5 p.m. on April 9 and from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, on the second floor of the Bothwell Healing Arts Center at 3700 West 10th Street in Sedalia.

During the meeting of the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force on Monday, April 5, it was reported that according to the state’s website, 10,070 Pettis County residents have received one dose and 6,753 have completed the two-dose series.

The clinic is scheduled from 3-7 p.m. at the Missouri State Fairgrounds at 2503 W. 16th Street.
Walk-ins are first-come, first-served after those with scheduled appointments. People should enter the main gate on West 16th Street and proceed to the MO-AG Theatre on the fairgrounds.
Currently, Missouri is vaccinating Phase 1A, Phase 1B and Phase 2 populations. Individuals who qualify under these phases are encouraged to schedule an appointment to reduce wait time by calling (660) 829-8822 or going online at brhc.org/vaccine.
