Berton L. Newton, 29, Lasha R. Newton, 31, and Jamie L. Barbara, 32, all of the same address in Alton, and Abriana L. Butler, 22, of St. Louis, were all charged with felonies. Berton Newton was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 1 felony. Lasha R. Newton was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 2 felony. Barbara was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. Butler was charged with aggravated assault, a Class 4 felony. The cases were presented by the Alton Police Department.

Edwardsville man charged with aggravated DUI Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE An Edwardsville man was charged Monday with aggravated DUI after a May 8 incident in Collinsville. Jose D. Rivas Pacheco, 28, of Edwardsville, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department. According to court documents, on May 8 Pacheco allegedly was found to be driving a 2010 mercury under the influence of alcohol. It was noted he had a suspended license for related charges. Angela J. Dahlgren, 49, of Collinsville, was charged May 7 with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. According to court documents, on June 8 Dahlgren allegedly was found to be in possession of more than 500 grams of cannabis. Bail was set at $35,000. Charges were also filed against Adrian L. Mitchell, 30, of Columbus Ohio. He was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. According to court documents, on Feb. 20 Mitchell allegedly was found to be in possession of more than 500 grams of cannabis.

Two face weapons charges after Collinsville incident Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE Two people face weapons and other charges following an incident just outside of Collinsville. Jose H. Arreola, 22, listed as homeless out of Collinsville, and Mario Mendoza, 22, of Collinsville, were both charged May 6 with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony. Arreola was also charged with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 2 felony, and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a Class 4 felony. The cases were presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. According to court documents, on May 2 the two allegedly shot at a building they “should have known” was occupied.
