Robert W. Lewis, 44, and Brittany D. Mundell, 30, both of the 2000 block of Grand Avenue, Granite City, were each charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. According to court documents, on March 28 the two allegedly entered a building in the 800 block of E. Chain of Rocks Road, Granite City, to commit theft. Bail was set at $60,000 each. In a separate filing, Scott A. Schmacker, 46, of Granite City, was charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony.

Florida man pleads guilty to attempted murder in Alton Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail Warr EDWARDSVILLE A Florida man who has the distinction of currently being the longest-incarcerated person in the Madison County Jail has pleaded guilty to attempted murder. Jomar M. Warr, 28, of Winter Park, Florida, accepted a plea offer to one count of attempted murder, a Class X felony, this week. Sentencing has not been set, according to officials at the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. Warr faces 6-25 years in prison. Warr was initially charged in July 2017 with multiple counts of attempted murder. He was indicted March 25 on four counts of attempted first degree murder and four counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, all Class X felonies; aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony; and unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 2 felony.

Kaitlyn R. Rexford, 24, was charged April 14 with one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony; and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, both Class 4 felonies. The charges are based on an April 13 incident. On April 13 Rexford was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, both Class 3 felonies. Those charges were based on incidents July 7 and Jan. 1. Both cases were presented by the Alton Police Department.

Randy L. Sheppard, 41, of Dorsey, was charged with possession of a firearm with revoked firearm owners ID card, a Class 3 felony, and aggravated unlawful use of weapons and criminal damage to property over $500, both Class 4 felonies. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court documents, on April 8 Sheppard allegedly was found to be in possession of a Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun while having a revoked Firearm Owners Identification Card, and was carrying it loaded, uncased and easily accessible in a motor vehicle without a concealed carry permit. He is also accused of causing more than $500 damage to another person’s 2000 Toyota 4runner by breaking out the windows and ramming the back of the vehicle.

Wesley J. Wallace, 49, of Granite City, was charged April 9 with two counts of harassment of a witness, Class 2 felonies, and violation of bail/bond, a Class A misdemeanor. The current case and the previous case were both presented by the Collinsville Police Department. According to court documents, between June 2 and April 7 Wallace allegedly called the witness, who was also the victim in the previous case, “hundreds of times and left voicemails yelling, screaming and using profanity.” He also allegedly left voicemails threatening to post nude photographs of her on the internet if she did not return his calls.
