Luis Ernesto Jácquez did not register to vote from abroad in this year’s Mexican elections, but that won t stop him from casting his ballot in person.
Because he has dual citizenship and a valid Mexican voter ID, he will travel to his native Hermosillo, Sonora, to exercise his right to elect the governor and deputies who will be representing him and his family for the next few years. Fortunately I’m able to travel to México and I am excited to participate in the elections, Jácquez said. I am not doing it for myself. I do it for my family and friends who live in México. By electing the leaders, we can look forward to change, or a better future for the country we love so much.”
