Terry Gou has submitted vaccine application: CECC

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday confirmed that the Yonglin Foundation had submitted documents, including the substantial information required, to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to import the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), who heads the center, on Monday said that the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control had received six requests from companies or groups expressing their intent to import COVID-19 vaccines, but that none had provided the required documentation.
The CECC on Friday last week released a set of requirements for those who intend to import COVID-19 vaccines.
Taipei, May 31 (CNA) Health Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) on Monday said the current COVID-19 outbreak in Taiwan is easing, as the number of people each patient infects on average has fallen since mid-May.

Taipei, May 31 (CNA) Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) on Monday asked the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) to provide regular updates on applications by private interests to donate COVID-19 vaccines from abroad as case numbers continue to rise in Taiwan.
Su also asked the Food and Drug Administration to speed up its screening of those applications and verify the sources of the vaccines being offered, according to Cabinet spokesman Lo Ping-cheng (羅秉成).
The premier gave these instructions during a meeting with Cabinet officials early Monday to examine Taiwan s current COVID-19 control measures, Lo said.
The CECC announced on Monday 274 new local infections, 4 imported cases, 73 more local cases resulting from reporting backlog and 15 new deaths, bringing the tally of total confirmed cases to 8,511.
