Over the weekend, the City of Lubbock announced that mask mandates inside city-owned facilities would go away. This means you don t have to wear a mask at City Council meetings or at events at the Civic Center unless the people putting on the event ask you to mask up.
While city-run facilities no longer have mask mandates, that doesn t mean you can go mask-free everywhere.
According to a recent press release, the end of the mask mandate does not cover where the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) takes over. In other words, if you re traveling on Citibus or going to the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, you better have a mask with you.

A California man who was sentenced in 2017 to three years in prison for disrupting a DFW-bound flight in 2016 will return to prison for another year and 1/2 after admitting to violating his conditions of supervised release.
Jerry Ba Nguyen admitted during a hearing earlier this month to violating the conditions of his supervised release that prohibited him from using controlled substances and required him to participate in a substance abuse treatment program.
In the April 22 hearing, Nguyen admitted to using methamphetamine and the synthetic cannabinoid K2 about a week after he began his supervised release. Then on July 26, 2019, a day after he admitted to using the drugs, he left the Salvation Army residential treatment program without permission.
