Chiefs Andy Reid on Frank Clark: he ll be here, and we ll go forward

In early July, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was charged with felony possession of an assault weapon stemming from his March arrest, Friday marked the first media availability for Andy Reid since the charge and the Chiefs head coach said he had remained in touch with Clark since offseason activities had ended. “I obviously stay in communication with all our players during the break the best I possibly can,” said Reid. “I have had a chance to talk to Frank I’m not going to get into that. There’s nothing that has taken place up to this point. Frank will be here, and we’ll go forward with that. Obviously, we keep tabs on it and his people will keep tabs on their side of it and we move forward.”

Urban represented McMartin teacher

Urban represented McMartin teacher SHARE by Kevin Cody In early 1984, when seven McMartin Preschool teachers were charged with 207 counts of child molestation, all of the defendants claimed innocence, including longtime teacher Betty Raidor. Nonetheless, Raidor’s attorney, Manhattan Beach attorney Walter Urban, approached the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office about the prospect of a plea bargain. The other teachers and their attorneys were furious at this perceived break in ranks. When asked by reporters if he was conceding his client was guilty, Urban responded matter of factly, “No. But it is my duty to explore all the options.” (Charges against Raidor and four of the other seven were dropped, but not until two years after their arrests. Preschool owner Peggy Bucky and her son were tried, but not convicted.)
