CM asks ministers to monitor sugar prices Lahore April 7, 2021 LAHORE:Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has assigned a task to the ministers to monitor sugar prices in all the divisions of the province and directed the line departments to submit a report about the stocks situation and rates of sugar every day. In a statement, the CM directed for ensuring sufficient availability of sugar before and during Ramazan. He asked the ministers and government officials to monitor sugar prices in districts. No one will be allowed to exploit the poor, the CM asserted and vowed that protection of rights of the common man is the responsibility of the government. The PTI government has the capacity and commitment to fulfill the responsibility of protecting the rights of the citizens, he added.

Ramazan package: Minister promises maximum relief to people

Lahore March 10, 2021 LAHORE:On the directive of the prime minister, the Punjab government has started working out a special package to provide a subsidy on essential items, including flour, sugar and vegetables, to provide maximum relief to the people during the Holy Month of Ramazan. A meeting of the committee formed on the direction of the chief minister to prepare recommendations for the Ramzan package was held at Darbar Hall of Civil Secretariat here on Tuesday. Provincial Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, the chief secretary, administrative secretaries of different departments, including industries, agriculture and livestock, the Lahore commissioner, director food, director general public relations and the Punjab cane commissioner attended the meeting.

Minister demands NAB probe into LWMC affairs National February 25, 2021 LAHORE: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal has demanded an inquiry by the NAB into the affairs of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC). He demanded this in a letter to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here on Wednesday. In the letter, he demanded the chief minister to lodge an inquiry by the NAB into the affairs of LWMC. “With profound regard to your direction conveyed vide letter dated 11.01.2021, I assumed the responsibility of assisting Lahore Waste Management Company to make Lahore garbage free through effective and self sustaining measures. As a matter of fact, on 15.01.2021, around thirty thousand tons of municipal waste was collected and disposed off in an environment friendly way and city of Lahore was almost municipal waste free. One must appreciate the tireless efforts of officers and staff of LWMC who assisted me in achieving this target in such a short span of time,” he said
