The chief of the board of directors for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has resigned from his position after discussions with Premier Brian Pallister’s office, the premier announced in a statement to media sent out late Monday afternoon.
As first reported by Winnipeg Free Press reporter Larry Kusch on Jan. 26, McWhirter is currently in Arizona after travelling there, and has been performing his duties remotely.

Pallister also announced everyone appointed to boards, agencies and commissions by orders-in-council are no longer allowed to travel outside permitted travel areas, citing concerns over new variants of COVID-19 as the reason.
