Driver crashed head-on into car in serious coast road crash

James Tirrell, aged 70, was behind the wheel of a Citroen Berlingo on Sunday, November 15, 2020. At approximately 9.30am, Tirrell crashed head-on into a red Ford Focus on the B3157 near to the junction of Cogden Beach car park. Police closed the road while firefighters from Bridport and Beaminster attended and an air ambulance landed in a nearby field. Homeless and no place to stay locally, the 40-year-old excessively drank alcohol and then drove towards London, where he previously lived.
