“We are proud to endorse Mayor Fulop and his Slate in this upcoming Election,” Joint Council 73 President Alphonse Rispoli, Jr. said in a statement.
“Mayor Fulop has always answered our calls and has always supported Joint Council 73 and our affiliate locals. The Joint Council 73 Executive Board will be working with our International Brotherhood Teamsters Political Coordinators and our affiliate locals to GET OUT THE VOTE.”
The endorsement includes Teamsters Local Union 11 Teamsters Local Union 560, Teamsters Local Union 35, Teamsters Local Union 641, Teamsters Local Union 97, Teamsters Local Union 701, Teamsters Local Union 125, Teamsters Local Union 863, Teamsters Local Union 177, Teamsters Local Union 877, Teamsters Local Union 469, Teamsters Local Union 1100, Teamsters Local Union 522, NJ Teamster Retiree Club, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.

Sources who spoke under the condition of anonymity, since they weren’t authorized to speak on the matter, independently confirmed the arrest following a Jersey City Times tweet about the accident and an in-depth account by Real Garden State.
The same sources noted that the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. and Cunningham denied being under the influence, instead explaining that a medical incident led to the crash.
According to a copy of the motor vehicle accident report, the accident occurred at 250 Culver Ave. and the deputy majority leader of the state Senate Democrats had a blood sample taken for an alcohol test.

While Bayonne Mayor James Davis and Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti have been close allies since being elected to office in 2014 and 2015 respectively, it appears the partnership has ended. Chiaravalloti represents the 31st Legislative District, which includes Bayonne.
It was first reported in three local media outlets –
Hudson County View, TAPinto Bayonne, and
New Jersey Globe, – that Davis told Chiaravalloti and the Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) on Feb. 26 that he would not support Chiaravalloti in the June primary election. It is not clear why. The outlets attributed the information to an anonymous source, not unusual in stories of political intrigue in Hudson County.
