On Wednesday, 2803 stocks advanced, 1052 declined and 110 remained unchanged, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with an advance decline ratio of 2.66, indicating positive closing of stocks in broader markets.

Sensex fell 434 points to 72,623 and Nifty lost 142 pts to 22,055. BSE investor wealth fell to Rs 388.87 lakh crore. 

A short build-up was seen in 72 stocks including Ashok Leyland, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, L&T Technology Services, Ramco Cements, and NMDC.

“Foreign investors continue to provide unwavering support to the domestic market, helping to sustain the ongoing rally despite weak global cues. Indias underperformance during the year is expected to reverse moving ahead," Vinod Nair of Geojit Financial Services
