Press Contributing Writer sports@presspublications.com Woodmore made some noise in the postseason last year. Is the Wildcats track team up for an encore? If Woodmore’s performance thus far is any indication, this could be one of its best teams.

In Northern Buckeye Conference girls soccer, Woodmore and Genoa both return double digit numbers of experienced players, but will have to contend with league favorite and potentially state-ranked Eastwood.

Woodmore track’s youth movement continued when sophomore Azure Travis made her state debut and took fifth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time 15.18 and took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles clocking a time of 44.6 on Saturday, setting school records in both events.

Despite the Eastwood girls track championship at the Northern Buckeye Conference meet, Woodmore’s Olivia Vogelpohl got Athlete of the Year and her teammate Azure Travis got Track Athlete of the Meet. 

Woodmore girls soccer coach Lauren Colangelo said earlier this season that if her team “keeps its foot on the gas,” they could make it to the Division III district finals.
