The crime report for the first week of the new year has been released, and it shows that in Fairfield County, police received a total of 270 crime cases. 179 of them were listed as ‘Other’. 27 cases of theft were reported. There were 19 reports of a ‘Suspicious Situation,’ and there were 15 disturbances, 9 assaults, and 6 cases of vandalism. Burglaries totaled 4 cases and there was one single instance of trespass.

An employee of a Connecticut bank is now accused of ripping off customer accounts. Connecticut State Police say while he worked at Webster Bank in Kent, 44 year old Aaron Parsons stole more than $100,000 from accounts belonging to older customers by illegally withdrawing the money from their accounts and then transferring it to his personal accounts. A pedestrian is dead after attempting to cross Route 7 near New Milford High School. Police have not yet released the identity of the man who died in the incident that happened around 6:45pm Thursday in the southbound lanes of the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. So far, no information has been released pertaining to the vehicle that hit him.

A bomb scare on Christmas Day in Wilton has resulted in the arrest of a man from Norwalk. 33 year old Clifton Allison is now charged with second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree breach of peace for the incident that took place on Monday at his former workplace, ASML on Danbury Road.
