The mayor there predicts damage to the city will be widespread. Many homes have been pounded by waves and the storm surge could only get worse. Fox news says five people have died so far as a result of the storm. Two of those were medical related deaths in saint lucy county. The center is this clear spot, it has not made landfall but is close, close enough it doesnt matter if it weakened a bit. Youre seeing heavy rain bands, very high winds, around 100 Miles Per Hour as well as that serious storm surge pushing in. These areas are going to be dealing with damage as we see it move off later today. It is a question of how much damage certain spots see and if it will make landfall.
