The women’s 6k will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 10k at 10:30 a The 24th-ranked women currently hold the No. 2 spot in the region, behind No. 7 Alabama. The Seminoles will be looking for their fifth straight bid to the NCAA meet on Friday. “The ladies enter this regional meet ranked second, which is a very exciting position to be in,” FSU women’s distance coach Baylee Mires said. “We’ll face some tough teams that are certainly talented that will be gunning for our spot, so we must put it together on the day. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Florida State men's and women's cross country teams tallied three All-ACC honors Friday morning at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va. The women finished fifth in the team standings while the men finished ninth. In the first race of the day, Fearghal Curtain ran a season-best 23:25.6 in the 8k race. Curtain was able to stay in the front pack for most of the race and made a late push to earn 21st. Curtain's performance earned him All-ACC honors. Cooper Schroeder ran a personal best 23:48.1 to finish 42nd in the field. Zach Leachman (24:10.9), Zach Cloud (24:28.6) and Matthew Newland (24:42.2) rounded out the top five for the Seminoles. The women had a great day on the course, and it was led by Emmy van den Berg. Van den Berg got off to a great start and stayed in the front pack for the first half of the race. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will start the postseason on Friday by racing in the 2022 ACC Championships at the Panorama Farms course in Earlysville, Virginia. The University of Virginia will serve as the host team.
The men’s 8k will start at 10:40 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 11:30 a.m. Both races will air on ACC Network Extra and live timing will be available. Coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Both races will see 13 teams step to the starting line on Friday carrying a national ranking or have received votes in the latest USTFCCCA poll.
