A Carson City jail inmate was charged Sunday with battery by a prisoner after allegedly fighting with another inmate after he felt “disrespected,” during a workout session according to a Carson City sheriff’s deputy. Stig Corrin Strong, 25, faces the felony charge after the incident in which an inmate was kicked, choked and battered.

A 33-year-old Carson City man was taken into custody Tuesday for a felony warrant and, subsequently, providing false information to avoid being arrested for the warrant, a sheriffs deputy said.

Two were booked into jail Thursday on felony charges after officers responded to a vehicle reported stolen from a motel in the 2700 block of South Carson Street, a Carson City sheriffs deputy said.

Carson Citys Smiths, located at 599 E. William Street, has reopened following its closure by the health department. According to the department, a complaint was received by a customer stating they had witnessed multiple mice within the store.

A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday evening on counts of burglary, gun possession, and car theft. According to the arrest report, Randy Lee Bauman was arrested in connection to multiple burglary incidents going back to Oct. 2022.
