As Hamilton workers join people across the country Friday in mourning those hurt or killed on the job, there's still little known about multiple investigations into National Steel Car following a man's death there last year. 

Accidents have continued apace following the death of Quoc Le, despite the frequent presence of Ontario Ministry of Labour officials on the premises.

The worker is fighting to build a rank-and-file committee at the plant to enable workers to act independently of the United Steelworkers union apparatus, which is in bed with management and has long presided over dangerous working conditions.

Successive governments have gutted workplace regulations and presided over a broken occupational health and safety system that allows companies like National Steel Car to turn workplaces into death traps.
