NILAI: TV host-entrepreneur Neelofa will be charged at the Magistrate s Court here on Thursday (May 20) for allegedly not adhering to Covid-19 prevention procedures when shopping for carpets at Nilai 3 near here, which was in violation of the conditional movement control order. The 32-year-old celebrity will be charged for failing to scan her details via the MySejahtera application or manually before entering the premises. Her husband, Muhammad Haris Muhammad Ismail, 26 will also be charged for the same offence they allegedly committed on May 2. Nilai OCPD Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said Muhammad Haris would be slapped with an additional charge of failing to put on a face mask while in a public place.

Tawau District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas  (pic) said the man, known as Jobby Basri, 30, was believed to have information on the activity which involved about 100 individuals in the village. “The police have conducted an investigation related to this video. It is hoped that this individual can come to the Tawau district police headquarters to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement Saturday.

Bernama GEORGE TOWN: Penang has allowed the tarawih and Aidilfitri prayers to be performed in areas placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), based on mosques and surau capacity, effective today. Penang Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAIPP) director Mohd Zakuan Zakaria said apart from that, all religious activities including Friday prayers were also allowed in mosques and surau in the MCO and CMCO areas. “For Aidilfitri prayers, the imam must recite a short surah or verse during the prayer and the total duration of the prayer including takbir, prayer, sermon (khutbah) should be over by 45 minutes.
