After years of research, the National Register of Historic Places included the Spencer Homestead in its database. The undisturbed land surrounding the farmhouse was a key factor in the decision.

Cheers were mixed with tears Thursday night, May 11, as 15 of 19 graduates from the FPS Learning Center got diplomas in an emotional, uplifting ceremony.

The "D" in St. George is more than 100 years old and was placed on the historic national register thanks to a push by local and university officials.
