The long awaited Tapley Park playset was a true community effort after many local volunteers came together to raise money to replace the old playset.

Phil Martin, from Bolton & Menk presented information to the council during the public hearing on Feb. 13 regarding the upcoming Highway 10 utility improvement project.

The newly reconvened airport commission is working towards improving the Wadena municipal airport to add more value for the community as well as current and future tenants.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14 the city council deferred approving municipal consent for 30 days to give business owners affected by the project additional time to negotiate with MnDOT.

The Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that represents more than 100 cities outside of the twin cities metro area.

The total 2024 general fund levy across all city taxable Wadena and Otter Tail county properties increased $16,501 with a mill levy rate of $.056 per $1,000 taxable property value.

“Aviation services are harder and harder to come by," Mark Lunde said in a recent interview. "There are people I know who travel hundreds and hundreds of miles to get their airplanes worked on.”

A popular playset at a Lincoln Avenue Southwest park was torn down in November due to its deterioration. A neighborhood resident challenges others to come up with the money to help buy a new playset.
