An investigation conducted by the California Department of Education concluded that the Del Mar Union School District has been out of compliance with requirements of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), under 34 CFR Section 300.502(b)(2).

On April 11, the Del Mar Union School District board selected and swore-in their new trustee, Alan Kholos.

Allen Kholos, a former school board member, will now take the seat, after receiving support from three of the four board members on Tuesday evening.

Predictably, the Del Mar Union School District’s Board of Trustees voted at the March 15 board meeting to appoint someone to fill the board seat vacated Feb. 16 by Scott Wooden, rather than hold a special election.

The Del Mar Union School District is now accepting applications to fill a trustee vacancy following the resignation of Scott Wooden.

In San Dieguito Union High School District’s Area 5, a tight race is unfolding between Phan Anderson and the incumbent trustee Julie Bronstein.

In the Del Mar Union School District, voters will select three board members in an at-large election this November.

The San Diego Registrar of Voters has nearly finalized the list of candidates for local races in the Nov. 8 general election. 

The local election season has officially begun in Solana Beach and Del Mar and several potential candidates already pulling papers.

The candidate filing period officially opened on July 18 for the November 2022 election.
