A 30-year-old Nigerian woman has tested positive for monkeypox in Delhi, making it the city's ninth and India's 14th case of the infection, officials said on Monday.

The condition of a young woman of African origin, who is the sixth reported case of monkeypox in Delhi, is stable, sources said.

Delhi monkeypox: She was admitted to LNJP Hospital two days ago and her reports came out on Friday night, confirming that she was positive.

A meeting of top health experts called by the Centre on the need for revisiting existing guidelines on management of monkeypox is underway here on Thursday amid rising number of cases of the disease in the country.

Another Nigerian man living in Delhi has tested positive for monkeypox, taking the total number of cases in the national capital to three.

A suspected monkeypox patient, admitted at the LNJP Hospital here, was discharged after testing negative on Thursday, a senior doctor said.

Delhi today reported its first monkeypox case as a 31-year-old man with no foreign travel history was diagnosed with the disease. This is the fourth monkeypox case reported in India with the previous three cases being reported from Kerala.
