Nearly 43,000 people were moved through the air pore during that time. The Bay Area News Group is reporting 27,000 were flown out to be deported. The other 16,000 were transferred to holding facilities. There is concern from the community about whether this activity violated sanctuary city policy. This speaks to a larger issue in to what level of policies that are violating human rights. Individuals being moved out of the country rapidly and denied the opportunity to speak to attorneys or Access Council are having rights violated. Reporter a spokesperson says they are looking in to this matter as the issue is of great interest to the mayor and oak land values. We are looking in to this activity to understand it and address it. The port of oak land oversees the airport and leases the runways for private chartered flights.
