KATHMANDU, April 26: Dipesh Pun, who was detained in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, has been released on bail.

Pun was staying in prison even after a court order to release him citing his inability to post bail amount.

The cooperative chair Om Prakash Gurung has been sent to jail for judicial custody while others, including former Vice President Pun’s son, have been released on bail.

KATHMANDU, April 19: The Rupandehi District Court on Friday extended the detention of Dipesh Pun, the son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, after he failed to post the bail amount of Rs 400,000 in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.

Additional Inspector General of Police Kiran Bajracharya, who is also the chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), which is investigating the Lalita Niwas land grab scam and 60 kg gold scam, on what transpired during the investigation.

Central Investigation Bureau for initially prosecuting 29 individuals over 60kg gold case.

A budget of nearly Rs70 million has been set aside for it.

Last week, the CIB had arrested Rahul Mahara, son of senior Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
