Seek out handcrafted treasures at these small-but-mighty towns dotted across the region

A graduate of Auburn University recently took home the top prize at the new Alabama Wildlife Fine Arts Competition, a part of the annual Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival (WEWA). Jared Knox, the winner of the 'Best in Show' category, graduated from Auburn in 2021 with a degree in mechanical engineering and had only pursued art as a hobby during the vast majority of his time on the Plains.

The second annual Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival has been scheduled for November 11 from 9:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. and will take place on the banks of the Coosa River in downtown Wetumpka.

New Christian artwork is being installed in Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper by Baptist Health Foundation, as well as in other affiliated hospitals.

Primarily self-taught, Sue Key began her journey as a photographer but made a solid transition to the paint brush once an empty nest gave her the extra push.
