The three earned the most votes in the four-year board race in November and will serve through December 2026.

Candidates for the two-year seat are: Anthony Bonsante, Tris Cluever, Jessica Forsberg, Trevor Mulholland, Mike Stanke, David Stimac, John Ward, Brent Yaunick and Michelle Brekken.

To address the safety concerns identified in the survey results, several recommendations from the task force were presented to the Brainerd School Board.

"I think this is a community effort, especially to make sure that our students feel safe, and they’re coming to school in a place where they can participate in a way that’s helpful and appropriate," teacher Erin Karlgaard said.

Timothy Lensmire, a professor in the department of curriculum and instruction at the University of Minnesota, was slated to address teachers during their in-service day Wednesday, May 26, to provide state-mandated cultural competency training.
