Brandon M. Drew, 39, of Topeka, was identified Tuesday as the homicide victim found fatally shot Monday in the 3500 block of S.W. Kerry Avenue.

One Topeka block has seen three homicides in less than eight months. The third of those came Monday in the 3500 block of S.W. Kerry Avenue.

Males were victims in 15 of the homicides so far in 2022 on a list maintained by the Topeka Police Department.

A charging affidavit made public shared information about why numerous criminal charges are being filed linked to a Sept. 29 downtown Topeka shootout.

John Grubb Jr., 63, has been identified as the victim of a homicide discovered Friday morning near S.E. 2nd and Quincy, Topeka police said.

Police on Friday were investigating two separate homicides committed in Topeka, which appeared unrelated. No arrests had been made in either case.
